A great three points with a very attractive style of football.
From the first whistle royston showed their desire and the intensity desired.
The two Ryan's, Towner and Ingrey, showed early the level of commitment the team would show all through. And it was these two who combined to open the scoring, with Towner playing wide right but showing his desire to drift inside and make things happen, he received the ball from Danny may, turning very sharply and feeding an amazing ball through to Ingrey who finished with style.
It has to be said although Rhys hoeness didn't have his best game the attacking play was superb.
Again it was Towner who won the header, not his strongest point as a player, which with the chasing Mason and Ingrey forced the corner which after a bit of a scramble lead to the impressive joe de la salle to score the second.
With a deserved 2-0 lead at half time I am sure the message was much of the same please.
And the team showed the same desire, with the missing drive from scott bridges in the centre of midfield and the misfiring hoeness it meant the drive from Towner and Ingrey pushed the team on. With the solid defending with the makeshift defence who hardly put a foot wrong the game was there for the taking. With the substitutions of mason and hoeness bringing on Dobson and robins there was no change in the play.
And after so very clear fouls that somehow the officials failed to see, the second penalty appeal was given and captain jack Bradshaw stepped up to smash it home.
This is when the only blot on the page came when a lapse in defence allowed Aylesbury to score.
But the strong reaction and decisive goal came when Luke robins burst through, the keeper rushed out and went down allowing robins to sink the ball over the keeper into the back of the net.
For me it was nice to see the players getting the ball on the floor and playing football in undoubted hard conditions, although playable I am sure the pitch wasn't the easiest to play on.
And again the players like Chris watters and joe de la salle ,who have taken so much criticism this season, a special well done as their performances are progressing to the levels we expect from the crows.
