Three valuable points for Royston which puts us back in the top three of the league. This to me was a performance that was much better in so many ways to the Tilbury game but still lacked cohesion at times and goal scoring chances being spurned. With the industrious Ryan Ingrey unavailable and Ryan Towner left on the bench in favour of the returning Scott Bridges the style of play seemed the same as previous and still appears to me that we remain a one dimensional side that can only play one way. We are still not able to capitalise fully on chances being created and appear to be run of the mill in the striking department. Still we are 3rd in the table but with very little in terms of points between about six teams then the situation will be interesting in the coming weeks when we come up against the other teams in the top ha!f,such as Chalfont St Peter,Rushdon and Diamonds and St Ives.

Three points is valuable and a welcome bonus after the unbelievably poor showing at tilbury. But for me I am discombobulated as to how arguably the best player against tilbury ( appreciated not hard) Ryan Towner has been dropped when a centre back is playing in midfield. How can jack Bradshaw be played ahead of Towner or Stuart bridges who declared himself fit. Especially when the player who replaces jack in defence is poor at best. And with the upmost respect to the players at royston there are two or three players who should be playing a higher level of football, Towner being one of them and he is left on the bench until late in the game. I am left questioning the managerial decisions, when the three midfield players who at the start of the season showed they would deliver the performances week after week, a team that only lacked an out and out goal scorer, yet has now been changed continuously with no positive results to show for it. How can the manager applaud and encourage a centre forward, who can't hit a barn door, shooting from 30 yards with no hope of scoring. I love the crows and am a devoted fan but I am losing faith in the tinker man in charge. Can anyone explain why a centre half plays ahead of two quality midfield players or when we are chasing a game a defender is bought onto the pitch replacing a more attack minded player?

I appreciate the points you make but can only say you will be lucky to get any answers to your questions. The manager will certainly not give you his reasons and with only about 5 committee members who travel to away games at any one time this leaves only travelling supporters to get an overall view of the performances. As most supporters and committee members only watch less than half the games Royston play they have to rely on reports from other sources and are sometimes blinded by league positions without seeing the overall picture. I for one do not think this league is as good as previous seasons just look at how close the points differences are amongst the top 6 or 7 clubs. I think the attitudes these days is it does'nt matter how you perform just get 3 points.

Totally agree with you that it's all about the points. But as a football fan I like to see the game being played the right way, I also like seeing players that deserve to wear the shirt on the side. As much as his discipline isn't great players like scott bridges work hard for the team, that's what I ask is dedication and hard work. That the problem with some of the players they don't want to work. McDevit Bradshaw braithewaite the brothers bridges and Towner. Have that work ethic that most supports want to see. As was said on a previous post, consistency and work rate is what we want.

Are you saying that apart from the players you have named then the likes of Ingrey,Hoeness,Robbins,Mason and Fehmi do not give 100% for the team. If this is the case why did'nt Steve Castle start the match with Ryan Towner instead of leaving him on the bench until the closing minutes. He obviously thinks that Scott Bridges was the better option. I make this observation purely because it shows how Steve Castle sees the make up of the team as opposed to what other people think. Let's irrespective not forget that he is the manager and he has the say over who plays and who does'nt.It also has to be remembered that he will stand or fall by the decisions he makes irrespective of what anyone says. Still, as he claims he does not read or take notice of any comments(something he has in common with some committee members)then at least people can say what they think without being challenged.

I believe Ryan ingrey will give you 100% but the other I am left questioning. Rhys hoeness will be a threat bi doesn't always track back or challenge anyone when there is a 50/50. Rob mason at times is to busy trying to throw he weight around instead of playing football. Luke robins is a good player but his form is up and down like a yoyo. I could keep on if it would benefit anyone, but as a frustrated fan I don't think there is much point. As for Saturday I don't think there was any question scott would be back into the side but again the question is why was a defender playing ahead of arguably the most consistent midfielder if not player at the club?
