Royston carried on where they left off against Uxbridge,I don't think many of the players should be satisfied with this low key performance which saw Barton dominate most of the game.In fact they must be wondering how they went away with the only a draw instead of all three points.
Royston defence once again had problems with the pace of Barton's forwards, and in particular the Ariel dominance of the two strikers No. 9 and No.10. and along ball upfield seemed the only way to ease the pressure.
The midfield laboured with very little creativity and were second best, most of the time,to the eager Barton players, how we need a playmaker to take control.
The Crows forwards have some pace but were not effective enough to breach the well organised Barton defence.Even with the return of Ryan Ingrey after suspension and Rob Mason it took a penalty to achieve the draw after a first half goalkeeping by Royston keeper Yeats.
With our next opponents Northwood winning their first two games it will be an interesting encounter at Garden Walk on Saturday.
Foot note.
It is disappointing to hear Royston's No 10 verbally berating his team mates with a foul mouth rant because they did not pass to him and then answering their retort by saying "Who do you think you are talking to". Their is a captain on the field but by usurping his role because you are Assistant Manager smacks of the not very admirable trait of abuse of power.Perhaps it would be better if you analysed your own performance in the context of the overall team display.
